Working out is supposed to be a fun and exciting part of your day. But if you’re anything like most exercisers, you’re probably dealing with shoulder pain. The good news is there are ways to prevent it.

When you’re first starting to work out and push yourself physically, it’s easy to assume that the burning pain in your shoulders is because you’re using incorrect forms or weights.

The good news is: You are not alone. When you become a gym rat, everyone has dealt with shoulder pain when they’re first starting out.

The bad news? If it continues, it can result in chronic problems.

And when it comes to living with shoulder pain, everyone we see wants to know:

“Why Is This Happening To Me? “
Or
“Why Am I Still Suffering With Shoulder Pain
After Putting Up With It For 6 Months (Maybe More)?”

The shoulders are a joint that can be easily aggravated by improper technique, poor form, and overworking the muscle groups above and below them. One of the most common causes of shoulder pain during exercise is due to what is known as impingement.

This refers to the rubbing or grinding of bone or soft tissue on bone causing inflammation and leading to sharp, throbbing to pain that is local to the shoulder joint.

Does That Sound Like You?

When you’re starting to get back into exercise, there’s always the risk that you’ll be pushing your body slightly beyond its limits.

This can result in some pain and inflammation. This can be a good thing, as it means that your body is adjusting to the new stimulus you are putting on it. However, it’s important to be aware that if this continues for too long, the problem could become more serious.

Has This Type Of Thing Happened To You?

When you first start working out, your body needs to adjust to all of the new stress that is being put onto it. This means that in order for the muscles and tendons to keep up with the new workload, they need to get stronger.

However, there are many cases where people will experience pain when starting a new exercise routine that involves their shoulders.

In this case, it’s important not to worry because it’s completely normal and should go away after a few weeks or so as long as you really follow any initial instructions given by a personal trainer or therapist.
